Fractional-order systems have emerged as a powerful framework for modelling, analysis and control of complex dynamical systems with memory and hereditary characteristics. They find wide applications in precision motion control, robotics, automation, smart materials, signal processing, power systems, biomedical engineering and cyber-physical systems.

FOS’27 aims to bring together leading researchers, academicians, industry professionals and students worldwide to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research and discuss future directions in fractional-order science and engineering.

The conference will feature plenary talks by internationally renowned experts, invited lectures, technical paper presentations, special sessions, tutorials, industry interactions and networking opportunities.

The Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, established in 1951, is one of the largest and most reputed departments in India. It offers a comprehensive range of programs and is actively engaged in cutting-edge research across multiple areas including control systems, power and energy systems, signal processing, robotics, VLSI, sensors and instrumentation and fractional order systems.

The department boasts world-class faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a vibrant research environment.

It is planned to publish the peer reviewed and selected papers of conference as proceedings with Springer in their prestigious “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” series. Springer will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published.
